Sonia Kashuk Lipstick in Sunkissed and Rosette Review w/ Swatches
If you are on the hunt for a moisturizing lipstick this summer, Sonia Kashuk Satin Luxe Lipcolor in SPF 16, is definitely a must-have. Was first launched exclusively at Target for Spring of 2012. I got the chance to give this a try and purchased it last week from a Target gift card given to me.
According to what the press release say:
“The entire collection offers a luscious, anti-aging lip color with a sophisticated texture provides nourishing ingredients to plump up lips for added firmness. The paraben and fragrance-free formula contains Brown Seaweed Extract, a marine botanical rich in fatty acids that preserves skins elasticity, Ceramide 2 and Palmitoyl Peptide to visibly reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and SPF 16 to protect lips from UV rays.”
So I purchased 2 out of the 14 lip colors (Sunkissed 83 and Rosette 88), in which I find them very wearable for work or out grocery shopping on a daily basis.
Sonia Kashuk Satin Luxe Lipsticks in Sunkissed 83
It is described as a warm muted coral. It looked like a warm pinkish coral on my lips. My lips got a little pigmentation if bare, and it tones down the coral color from not being too orange-based. This is one of the best coral lipsticks I’ve tried. If you are a fan of anything coral and would like to try something that ain’t so bright, this is a recommended shade for you.
Sonia Kashuk Satin Luxe Lipsticks in Rosette 88
It is described as a reddish pink. When I wore this, it looked like a muted rose plum on my lips. This is a great wearable shade for fall and winter. Most especially when the air moisture drops, and you are in need of a hydrating lipstick.
Sonia Kashuk Satin Luxe Lipsticks in SPF 16, lived up to what it says. For a very affordable lipstick, it was able to last an average of 4 hours of wear, with coffee and water breaks in between, and still remains very moisturizing. Its performance is very comparable to high end lipsticks when it comes to pigmentation, longevity, application and hydration. It is very lightweight and extremely moisturizing. It glides like butter when you apply and the color payoff is intense. It does left behind a little bit of stain on the 5th hour of wear. The packaging is very helpful for storage, since it got the exact same shade on the outside of the tube. They never bled nor feathered from the duration of wear. Plus, it got SPF 16 which protects your lips from harmful UV rays that can lead to premature aging and wrinkles on the lips. I also loved that it doesn’t have any fragrance added to it. I don’t have any problems nor regrets with this product. It has met all of my expectations.
