Guerlain Rouge G (860) Madame Batifole Reviews, Photos w/ Swatches
Let me begin by saying, that this is the most expensive lipstick I have ever bought in my entire life (so far!) I informed my husband beforehand regarding my plans of purchasing this and I still can’t believe he gave me the go signal (Yay!). All for the love of makeup, Huh?
Guerlain Rouge G (860) Madame Batifole is a limited edition, described as a vibrant fuchsia and is part of the Guerlain’s Fall 2013 Voilette de Madame Collection. It appears as a medium-dark fuchsia with subtle blue undertones on my lips. The tube looks very unique (like a sci-fi Dino egg from Mars) and luxurious (they incorporated a dotted Swiss veil). It also comes with a signature double-mirrored case with magnetic snaps. The consistency is unbelievably lightweight, like it makes me wanna say: “Can I get an Amen!” It lasted an average of 7 hours wear and left a minor stain for another 3 hours, which I can just put on some lip balm instead of a full re-touch.
It also got this ruby powder microspheres, which are freaking awesome, that it tends to mask my lip imperfections (you don’t need to prep your lips beforehand) and also makes your lips look fuller, plump and juicy. When first applied it is creamy, but turns semi-matte after a few minutes. The application is super easy that it just glides without tugging or pulling. I advised you to use a lip brush onto the edges for precision and due to it being super pigmented, it will leave a stain around your lips if you make a mistake. It got a light violet scent that is barely noticeable a minute after.
It is definitely worth your $49.50, like seriously! This is a berry red shade that works great for all skin tones but will absolutely look more stunning on medium, medium-dark to deeper skin tones. When I received my package, the box is dilapidated. I thought somebody from the Post Office tried the product (Just Kidding!) Thank God, the lipstick on the tube was still intact. It is the kind of product that deserves the name “Luxury”. I am planning to purchase the Guerlain Rouge G l’Extrait in Gourmandise soon (I need to save up for some extra cash from my next paycheck). Guerlain Rouge G’s are even more lightweight when compared to Givenchy’s Le Rouge lipsticks (I will be reviewing Fuchsia Irresistible as soon as I get a hold of it). However, it is comparable to the weight, application and consistency of Chanel’s Rouge Coco Shine but way more opaque.
What’s the most expensive makeup you’ve ever bought? Have you tried Guerlain’s Rouge G’s yet? What do you like about Guerlain’s Fall 2013 Voilette de Madame Collection?
