Givenchy Le Rouge (205) Fuchsia Irresistible Lipstick Reviews, Photos w/ Swatches
Simply Irresistible. The Givenchy Le Rouge Fuchsia Irresistible just made me a new convert and became a fan to the entire line.
If you have read my previous post with regards to the other 2 of Givenchy’s Le Rouge lipsticks, one is a limited edition for Summer 2013 (Croissiere Coral) and the other is a permanent shade (Rose Dressing), I just can’t help but gushed about how awesome the formulation is for a semi-matte lipstick. Most matte, velvet or semi-matte lipsticks I’ve tried are comparable to a needy boyfriend. You just can’t help but go to the bathroom and check yourself in the mirror, if your lips hasn’t turned into a cactus yet. I just hated how matte lipsticks can be so drying but absolutely love how long it will last and how beautiful it coats your lips just like a second skin.
Givenchy Le Rouge Fuchsia Irresistible is described as a vibrant fuchsia. It appears as a bright cool toned fuchsia pink, almost neon, in a semi-matte finish. It’s a vivacious watermelon pink. It’s that type of a cool toned purplish pink that is flattering to girls of color, from olive, tan, dark tan, deep to dark golden skin. It is just the right amount of creamy consistency for easy application but not too much that it will tend to bleed or feather. It is non-drying and hydrates the lips during the first 2 hours of wear. It is insanely pigmented, and it is the most vivid from the 3 that I currently own. It averages 7 hours of wear on me, with a stain that lingers for another 2 hours until it starts to fade on the 3rd hour.
I apply a lip balm first, then I scrub my lips with a warm washcloth and apply the Givenchy Le Rouge lipstick after. It doesn’t work very well (it won’t stick) if I apply the lip balm immediately before the lipstick.
The Bottom Line:
Since I became a fan of this line, I just ordered one of 2 limited edition shades this Fall 2013, Givenchy Le Rouge d’Exception in warm brick red. I will definitely post my review soon. It’s made to be creamy enough to provide hydration and make it non-drying. You can apply a gloss or lip balm on the 5th – 6th hour of wear since it’s creaminess starts to fade around this time. It is definitely worth the price.
