Urban Decay Black Market 24/7 Glide-On Pencil Reviews, Photos w/ Swatches
As a part of the Urban Decay’s Holiday 2013 Collection, the Urban Decay Black Market 24/7 Glide On Pencils are a must have on every makeup junkies purse. And speaking of Black Market, these dark and funky pencils ain’t illegal to wear.
Urban Decay Black Market 24/7 Glide On Pencils set contains 6 eyeliners, 5 shades are new and 1 is a repromote permanent shade. The pencils are considered as travel sized, which are 0.03 oz compared to the 0.04 oz full sized ones. Honestly, I prefer the travel sized pencils because they are easy to stow in just about everything. However, the only drawback they end up costing you more than the regular full sized ones.
Another thing I rave about this set is that, the shades are dark and bold. It is a unique dark shade that’s not over-the-top, hence, intimidating and it is very wearable especially to work. The sad thing with these pencils, most of them are new and limited edition shades, so if you fell in love with a shade, you would no longer find them available in the stores. And you end up finding them on Ebay for a ridiculous price. Let’s call it, Black Market pricing. But sometimes, Urban Decay will bring back a limited edition shade featured in the past, and either repromotes it on a collection or makes it permanent.
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Pencils are the ONLY bold and colorful eyeliners that I can wear, so far. These are the only eyeliners that doesn’t irritate my eyes or in other words, the formulation is great that I am not allergic to. These also last me for the most of my day, let’s say an average of 8-10 hours of wear on me depending on how pigmented they are. The deeper shade ones tends to last longer on me. On another note, these pencils are richly pigmented that on a single or two passes per lid, you can achieve an intense color. And these do stick on my waterline and tightline with great color pay-off. Some brands that I’ve tried I am having a hard time applying them on my waterline and tightline, that I have to make several passes just to achieve the color I’ve wanted.
Some of the shades contains micro-glitter, but they are so tiny that it doesn’t irritate my eyes and had no fall outs. The shades I love the most are: Riot, Apathy and Ink. The shade I love the least is Black Market as I got too many charcoal black eyeliners on my stash and it is something that isn’t beyond ordinary. Let me also add that the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Pencils are waterproof and you can either blend or smudge them out. A great multi-tasker you shouldn’t miss in your makeup bag!
So these are the shades in the Urban Decay Black Market 24/7 Glide On Pencils Collection:
Ink is described as a deep navy blue satin. One of the shades in the set that got great color pay-off in a single pass.
Apathy is described as a metallic olive green shimmer. Compared to the rest of the set, it got the least amount of opacity and color pay-off that you have to build it up.
Riot is described as a smokey gray matte with violet and fuchsia micro-sparkle. It is the sheerest shade of them all, that you have to build it up to achieve full opacity. But the extra time building the color, isn’t put to waste as this color is so beautiful and very stunning.
Black Market is described as a charcoal black satin. It got a decent color pay-off after 2-3 strokes.
Desperation is described as a deep-taupe gray matte. It is the only permanent shade in the set. It got a decent color pay-off, somewhat just about average with 2 -3 passes to achieve its full opacity.
West is described as a dark brown pearl. It is richly pigmented that you get a full opacity in a single pass.
What’s your favorite eyeliner brand and shade? How many eyeliners do you currently own?
