Chanel Joues Contraste (84) Accent Powder Blush Reviews, Photos w/ Swatches
As promised, this is the second part of my Chanel Holiday 2013 Nuit Infinie de Chanel Collection post. If you missed the first part, you can read it here. The first part is all about lips and eyes, now it’s time for the cheeks. Chanel Joues Contraste Accent Powder Blush is more of a highlight blush for deeper skin tones. I was a bit skeptical to purchase it because most of the earlier reviews I’ve read, claims it will not show up on deeper skin tones. But I’m glad I took the risk and bought it. If you use a feather brush or with a light hand, definitely it’s never going to show up. But with 4 strokes across the pan, I actually was able to achieve the right pigmentation I wanted.
Chanel Joues Contraste Accent Powder Blush is described as a luminous pink beige. It appears as a cool toned muted rosy pink with subtle shimmer on my medium dark skin. It lasted for an average of 8 hours wear on me. It is finely milled silky smooth texture that is easy to apply and blend. It is not dry nor powdery at all. The shimmer is very subtle that it will appear as a sheer radiance that doesn’t highlight the pores. It will definitely be a great sculpting blush for women of color. Below I wore this blush on 2 different looks.
The Bottom Line:
If you are expecting a bold blush, this is not for you. It is suppose to give a a subtle yet flattering radiance on your cheeks. It’s also great to use this to highlight the cheekbones paired with a plum or mauve blush. The blush I owned and was able to hit pan from Chanel is pretty vintage (circa 2001) and it was already discontinued to date. My wishful thought: I hope luxury brands will feature more products that caters to women of color.
