Dior Golden Winter Holiday 5 Couleurs (644) Golden Snow Eyeshadow Reviews, Photos w/ Swatches
Dior 5 Couleurs Golden Snow Eyeshadow features mostly cool-toned, frosted shades from the shimmering silver to a grayish black all in one pan. This is my first quint from Dior and I definitely will be looking forward to purchase more. This was given by my husband as one of my birthday presents last week and I have been using this quint, playing with the colors and thus creating 4 different looks with it all week long. To read my review on Dior Diorific Minuit Lipstick, go here.
The 5 shades include: a pinkish white, a warm shimmering gold, a cool glittering silver, a muted taupe purple and a charcoal gray black. They all appear very frosted on my warm medium dark skin. It lasted for an average of 9.5 hours of wear on me before it fades but I never notice any signs of creasing. The least pigmented and the most difficult to blend and work with, which is kind of ironic, is the charcoal black shade. However, it got zero fall outs and the only one that had a satin finish. The pinkish white, the taupe purple and the shimmering warm gold are all metallic, offers the best pigmentation and got barely noticeable fall outs except for the microglitter from the warm-toned gold. The metallic shimmering cool silver, had the most fall outs mainly because the glitter is a bit chunky which causes it to appear dry and a bit chalky. You can find below the different looks I’ve created with the quint. Most of the texture from the quint are so smooth, finely-milled and adheres like butter on your brush except for the cool-toned silver.
The Bottom Line:
Overall, I love my experience with my first Dior quint. I think this will look more flattering and will absolutely stand out on olive and deeper skin tones. However, if you are not into frosted eyeshadows, then this is not the palette for you. The few tricks I’ve learned with working with this quint are: it helps to apply an eyeshadow base to make the colors stand out if you are fair skinned, apply excess powder to set your under eye concealer and set it after you’ve applied the glitter shades on your eye for easy clean up, you can also apply your foundation after you do your eye makeup or just simply tap your brush especially when working with the glitters for minimal fall outs to clean up after. It is indeed a very festive quint for the Holidays this year.
